Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our analytics service and web host receive standard technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and approximate location based on your IP address. Some of this is collected using cookies (see Cookies and analytics).
We don’t collect payment information on this site.
How we use information
- To answer inquiries and plan corporate orders, fundraisers, market appearances, and events
- To send the email updates you signed up for
- To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
- To keep the site secure and block spam
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help run the site, and only as needed for that purpose:
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Workspace and Sheets) | Receives inquiry emails and stores email signups | Form and signup details |
| Google Analytics and Tag Manager | Measures site traffic | Technical and usage information, cookies |
| Google Fonts | Loads the site’s fonts | Your IP address and browser information |
| Google Maps | Shows the map on the Contact page | Your IP address and browser information |
| Our web host | Hosts and delivers the site | Technical information in server logs |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our visitors, the Foundation, or others.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are popular. This information is grouped and isn’t used to identify you personally.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. The site still works without cookies.
Do Not Track: some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no common standard for responding to it, so the site doesn’t currently change its behavior when it receives one.
Our email list
We only email you about the topics you choose when you sign up. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe or change your choices at any time by emailing popcuterie@epicollab.org with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. We’ll process your request within 10 business days.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries: kept in our email for 2 years after our last contact, then deleted
- Email signups: kept while you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, marked unsubscribed, so we don’t email you again
- Analytics data: detailed visit data is kept for 2 months under our current Google Analytics setting. Google keeps summary traffic reports, which don’t identify individual visitors, longer
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limited access to signup and inquiry records. No website or email system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you by emailing popcuterie@epicollab.org. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we’ll also note them on the homepage or in our next email to subscribers.
